Nothing much has changed since I last updated you. Cold front is making its way towards the region as the upper level trough follows about a day behind it. The front will arrive in the region early tomorrow morning and that is going to introduce the snow showers into the region after midnight tonight in the western half of the region. Once the cold front passes through the western half of the region late tomorrow morning, the clouds will start to clear up despite a few lingering snow showers possible before the mid afternoon.
Things will get interesting for the afternoon and overnight tomorrow once that cold front passes through the eastern half of the region. This cold front will usher in cooler air over the warmer lake waters and thus giving some lake effect snow in the eastern half of the region. At the same time a high pressure will build in the western half of the region and this will keep the temperatures a little below average for Friday night and Saturday until that upper level trough passes over the region. Once this upper level trough passes over the region than temperatures will gradually warm back and the lake effect in the eastern half of the region will die off.
Calm looking Sunday and Monday for the eastern half of the region with a calm looking Saturday evening through at least Tuesday morning in the western half of the region.
I’ll have an update coming up later this evening. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather!
