Rain

The cold front is trying to enter the region right now, and this cold front isn’t moving very quickly at all. It is located just to the west of Fort Wayne, and ahead of that cold front are where the rain showers are. This is also causing some warm weather – whether you believe it or not – but this wont last very long come the end of the week.

Now this cold front is basically going to become stationary in Ohio within the next few hours and once it becomes stationary it will keep the rain showers in the region as well as those waves of low pressure. In fact, the front will still be rather defined as places in the eastern half of the region, like Buffalo, are still going to have highs about 5° warmer than the western half of the region…not a large difference, but one nonetheless.

This front will remain stationary in the region for a good chunk of tomorrow, but it wont be until tomorrow night that the front will start to move. Tomorrow we’ll watch a weakish low pressure develop along the stationary front way down to our south. Though this low wont be strong…it might not get below 1015-mbs in all honesty…it will still be enough to move the stationary front away from the region. This will come with a price however, a price of about a quarter to half inch of additional rain showers.

The rain showers from this developing low will start tomorrow morning in the region and those are going to last us through the afternoon and into the overnight. Tomorrow morning is when the influence of the front and the low pressure exit the region, and the only remaining weather feature is going to be weak upper level trough.

A few days ago, I was expecting the upper trough to be a lot stronger, which is what promted to me to throw the rain showers and snow showers into the forecast for Wednesday. But this upper trough wont be as strong which is why I dropped the majority of the Wednesday precip chances in the region.

I’ll type more about Tuesday and Wednesday in a later update…I’ll have that up this evening. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
