Not a whole lot of changes to the extended forecast at this point right now, still working on that right now as not all of the charts were ready when I started to do the forecasts. The forecast for the next couple of days is going to be rather simple as we’ll watch a weak front push trhoguh the region and than an area of high pressure will develop.
Tonight we’re going to watch those clouds slowly move into the region from the west ahead of the front. This cold front will slowly be weakening as it enters the region, however it will be just enough to usher in those clouds late tonight. The clouds will then begin to give way to those scattered snow showers late tonight and into tomorrow morning in the western half of the region. These snow showers will not be frequent nor will they be heavy. The place that will see them the most will be Detroit, where about a half inch of snow is going to be possible. Other places such as Fort Wayne and Toledo will mainly be seeing some flurries.
Cold front pushes through the western half of the region by about noon tomorrow and this is going to allow for a good sized high pressure to start building into the region…right over the region for that matter. This high pressure will keep the western half of the region calm for tomorrow afternoon. The eastern half of the region will see a little bit of some different weather as the timing of the precip will favourable for some possible mixing with rain.
The timing of the precip will only be a couple hours behind that of the western half of the region as this front is going to be racing to stay ahead of the high pressure. The best chances to see these rain/snow showers in the eastern half of the region will be Buffalo around noon.
High pressure will push the cold front out of the entire by tomorrow evening and this is going to calm the region down as a whole for Friday night/Saturday morning. The weather will remain clear until the next system begins to develop out of the central Plains. I’ll type more about this system in a little bit, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
