No big changes to the forecast for tonight as those rain showers will be out and about the region this evening and overnight tonight. The rain showers are generally going to be light this evening, but overnight tonight some heavier rain showers are going to make their way into the region and these are going to be the main feature of the weather tonight as a few rumbles of thunder will be possible in the western half of the region. Warm front passed over the region not that long ago and that will allow for warm advection to take place over the region tonight. Temperatures across the region will be steady tonight in the mid 40’s as that cold front will still be off to the west of the region.
Tomorrow the cold front pushes through the region, taking the rain showers with it in the western half of the region. Despite a few lingering rain showers tomorrow afternoon in the west, the skies will start to clear in the evening. Tomorrow in the western half of the region we’ll have morning highs in the upper 40’s and then temperatures will gradually fall back into the lower 40’s.
For the eastern half of the rain showers, the rain showers will hang around for the majority of the day tomorrow in the east and then cool air will ride over the lake tomorrow evening with a weak trough by its side. A brief lake effect snow event will occur tomorrow evening, but nothing too extreme as a high pressure will keep the excitement to a minimum.
High pressure over the weekend will not be enough to stop a weak trough from brushing by the region on Saturday. This will be enough to produce yet another weak lake effect snow event in the eastern half of the region, but for the western half of the region it’ll be clouds and maybe a flurry.
High pressure again on Sunday.
Cold front moves through the region on Monday which will start off as rain showers, and then towards the end we’ll briefly see snow showers, further forecasting on this will be made.
Rain showers and snow showers looking likely on Wednesday 21 December and Thursday 22 December as our next, very interesting low pressure, heads towards the region. I’ll have a complete update on this coming up in the morning around 5.30 a.m., so if you want to know about a white Christmas…then check back tomorrow morning because I’ll have a boat load of information on this system.
I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I’ll have them for you as always.
