Cloud...Sun...Cloud...Rain...Cloud...

In a sense, the same system that gave winter storms to the northern Rockies is going to effect us tomorrow…but it wont be nearly as strong. Not even close. A weak cold front is going to push through the region tomorrow morning (in the west) and early tomorrow afternoon (in the east) and that is going to bring in mostly clouds, but a few scattered rain/snow showers will find their way into the region. I’d say that Detroit, Erie and Buffalo will see the best chances for those scattered rain/snow showers, and the other locations will only be holding on to a stray chance.

So a calm day today as a high pressure dominates the regional weather. This high pressure is going to slide out of the region to allow for that weak front to push through the region. After that weak front passes on through, another area of high pressure is going to build into the region for Friday evening and Saturday. But this high pressure will not overstay its welcome.

We’ll be watching an area of low pressure develop in the central Plains ahead of an upper level trough of low pressure. This development will happen on Saturday night/Sunday morning. This low pressure will deepen, but it wont be nearly as strong as the low pressure we saw the other day. This low pressure is going to ride through the Chicago area on Sunday afternoon and this is going to pull its cold front through the region.

This cold front wil introduce the rain showers into the region, however the question is will it change over to snow? At this point, it isn’t looking as likely for the region, however, once the front passes through we’re then going to watch the upper level trough/low move towards the region.

This upper level trough will take its time making it to the region, and at this point it is looking like Tuesday is when it will start to really effect the region. This upper level trough might be good enough to introduce some scattered snow showers into the region during this time as well as some cooler air. Now this is stil about 5 days so I am going to be doing further forecasting on this as well as our Sunday low pressure throughout the morning, so make sure that you check back for updates on that. I’ll type more about these two systems at 7.30 a.m. this morning where I’ll give you an in depth look at it.

I’ll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that’s the weather!
