(Radar for Green Bay and places west for 7:40 p.m. CT, 8:40 p.m. ET. Some storms coming close to the Green Bay area).
Well again as I typed earlier, tonight will be rather mild across the region as we'll see that warm front try to makes its way up to us tonight and tomorrow morning. As far as precip chances are concerned...for places like Fort Wayne and Detroit, I am going to drop the overnight chances because the front is moving just a tad bit slower than I had expected and there really isn't much precip ahead of this front anyways as of now...so the majority of tonight will be precip free. But as that warm front passes through the region and gets close to certain places late tonight and early tomorrow morning, I am going to call for a chance of precip for much of the entire southern region (minus Buffalo and Erie) from the sunrise hours until about noon tomorrow. A slight chance, but a precaution nonetheless to be quite honest with you.
Once this warm front passes on through, you'll know. Temps are going to be in the lower 80's from Fort Wayne to Cleveland tomorrow, and that might break some daily record highs, so tha will be interesting to see for the day tomorrow.
Now, this cold front will start to make its way into the region tomorrow, so there will be another slight chance for a scattered thunderstorm and/or rain shower in the late afternoon tomorrow, but for Erie and Buffalo, tomorrow morning I will drop that chance of an afternoon shower for Sunday because I think the front wont be close enough to you guys at that time.
Sunday night is going to be the most active night of this system. At that time, those storms are going to be rolling through and then out of the Green Bay area, and late tomorrow night those storms will be headed for Fort Wayne and Toledo and possibly even Detroit at that time. Small hail (pellet sized...pea sized, whatever size you wanna call it but it'll be tiny) and some gusty winds are going to be the main issue with these storms, but some of them could happen overnight (anytime after midnight is your best bet for storms in Toledo and Fort Wayne) and that will give you guys a good lightning show.
Those storms will then be moving through the region tomorrow morning and that will create the potential for a stormy morning commute all over the Lake Erie area, minus Buffalo who might still be out of the way at that time on Monday morning.
Really, because of the path of this system (and its wanting to go over Lake Superior) will mean that Green Bay will have the best chance of any of the cities we forecast for to have the best storms. As the system continues to move, it'll shift northeast through western Wisconsin/southern Minnesota and head towards Lake Superior. This means that the trailing cold front will sort of lose its...oomph so to type as it heads through the region. We could still pick up a strong storm or two in Fort Wayne and Toledo come late Sunday night and into Monday morning, but in general the farther east you travel...the less chance you get of a strong storm.
So in general, lets go over a quick timeline here for the day tomorrow...
Tomorrow morning, a slight chance of a thunderstorm along the southern portion of the region, especially around the late morning hours as a warm front pushes up northward. The chances for precip are not high so do not cancel all your plans for them.
Tomorrow afternoon, as that warm front continues to push northward, temps from Fort Wayne to Cleveland will be in the lower 80's, and they'll pretty much be in the 70's for the rest of the region.
Tomorrow afternoon, a slight chance of a pop up thunderstorm ahead of this cold front is possible in Fort Wayne and Toledo, however the rest of the area will just stay mostly cloudy.
Tomorrow night, thunderstorms will be rolling through the region, anytime after midnight is when Toledo, Fort Wayne, Cleveland and Detroit will see their storm chances really increase. A few storms could be strong, but in general, they'll mostly just be a good lightning show to type the least. Temps on Sunday night/Monday morning will remain in the upper 50's to lower 60's across the entire southern portion of the region.
Monday morning, storms are going to be likely across the entire Lake Erie area, including Fort Wayne (who really doesn't belong to a lake, so why we forecast for them is a mystery). As the front gets ready to pull through, those thunderstorms will start to give way to some scattered rain showers. Some of the storms in the morning could be strong, but most will just be regular spring time thunderstorms.
Tuesday...things clearing up and temps hovering the lower 60's across much of the region.
I'll have more coming up tomorrow morning around 6:30 a.m. for the morning update. I'll show you some temperature comparisions and my personal updated timeline on what I expect this typical spring time system to do and I'll also update my extended forecasts for you as well. I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you.
