Well, so far today has been anything but stormy and rainy like I had predicted, cant win them all. However, this cold front isn't through yet. Still over in Illinois, this cold front is producing a line of storms at this time, located in western Indiana, and over the past couple of minutes what appears to be a storm line is forming at this time. Now, there aren't many warnings right now in the area, just one and I think that is a flood warning. That tornado watch is still in effect for the area, however once that cold front passes through it will be discontinued.
As this storm line forms, it is going to be in some good air that will assist it, and of course I am thinking that the main threat from these storms will small hail and very heavy downpours...not to mention a good lightning show if the storm holds up. The most that will come from these storms will be what was mentioned, and odds are once they pass then the watch will start to be "hatched" away.
But once this cold front passes, we're still not going to be done with our chances for storms tomorrow. Nah, we got yet another low pressure coming up from the Plain's that will enter the region tomorrow. Some of the storms could yet again be strong, but that will be something that I shall type about more in the morning.
So again for tonight, what looks to be a storm line is trying to get itself organized in Indiana, and hopefully it holds up so we can see a nice storm or two. A couple of the storms could be strong, but the main threat at this point will be small hail and brief heavy downpours, which will be nothing to get overly excited about. Once that line of storms (future tense being used) passes through your area, then more than likely that watch will be dropped early, so be watching for that.
Temps are going to stay mild tonight across the region, until that cold front tries to pass on through. Once that cold front passes through, temps will drop off a little bit however it'll be too late to see those temps get very low. The cold front is still in Illinois at this time, but crossing into Indiana very soon.
For tomorrow we're going to watch a low pressure come out of the Plain's and make its way towards our area. This low pressure will once again produce rain showers and thunderstorms, only they will be scattered so not a wash out like what we saw yesterday. Because of the origin of this low pressure, I am going to keep the chance for some strong storms in the forecast, however I do not expect that we will see very many of them tomorrow.
So aside from that small line of storms trying to form over in Indiana, there wont be much else going on for the night tonight. Things appear to be calm over in Illinois for the most part, so that is going to be good for a brief break.
Now of course, if the storms do become frequently strong or we get a storm line that I believe will be dangerous, then of course I will update you and keep you informed on it, but for now I am not thinking that I will be doing that unless this line of storms over in Indiana really takes off and becomes something interesting. Basically if the storm line becomes rather intense then I will update you. If nothing else, there will be a morning update like there is every morning.
Otherwise off and on clouds tonight with the winds decreasing slightly as the evening progresses. Look for mild temps to hover near 60°, and once that cold front passes through then temps will drop back into the mid 50's. Look for another chance of rain showers and thunderstorms for the afternoon tomorrow as we'll be watching yet another system try to make it into the region. More scattered precip possible in the region tomorrow morning through the early afternoon for places like Fort Wayne and Toledo as that next system nears us. Be sure to check the daily and extended forecasts for more information.
I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
