Record daily highs

Well, we're only about 30° above average in some places in the southern part of the region, and even Green Bay at this point is a good 20 some above average. Lets take a look at some numbers right now shall we...

Toledo Metcalf Field, 83° right now, you've tied the daily record set in 1977.
Detroit Wayne County Airport, 81° right now, you're 5° shy of breaking the 1977 record of 86°.
Fort Wayne Int'l Airport, 81° right now, you're old record for today is 84° set back in 1930.
Cleveland Hopkins Int'l Airport, 77° right now, and you're old record is 83° set back in 1978.
Green Bay, presently 76° right now, and you're going to come close to breaking the old record of 79° set back in 1977.

So in general, pretty warm across a good chunk of the region, and some of us will come very close to breaking daily record highs, and some of us will (you know who you are too). Lets type about some weather now...

Mostly clear skies across much of the region right now, however there will be some slight afternoon clouds forming in just a bit with all this warmer weather. There are some rain showers heading towards the Green Bay area right now, but most of those will be somewhat light and it's mostly going to just be rain showers.

On the visibile satellite image, I am noticing what appears to be a disturbace over south central Indiana. That has been there now for the past couple hours, so I am watching that...that might produce a storm or two, dont know quite yet. The radar is fairly quiet right now, with the only exception being those rain showers up in the Green Bay area.

Still, I am goin go to type that the best chance of storms will be overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning for places like Toledo, Fort Wayne, Detroit and places just to the west of Cleveland. Erie and Buffalo you're really going to see your storm chances increase late tonight and more than likely around the sunrise hours. As far as the intensity of these storms...they'll mostly be the typical spring type storms, however I do believe that still at this point we could get a strong storm or two...main threat being gusty winds and pellet sized hail.

I'll keep you updated as always, throughout the afternoon today and through this evening, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
