Some scattered rain showers moving through the area in a pretty much west to east direction from Detroit to Buffalo. This is because earlier we had a warm front stall out over the region and become stationary. Now it is has sensed been pushed back south by the high pressure in Ontario...this turning it technically into a cold front. That means those rain showers are going to exit out of the region before midnight. Rain showers looking light anyways, so when they do pass through you'll probably barely notice them.
Now later tonight across the region we are just going to sit at mostly cloudy skies with a few breaks here and there in the skies. Temps are going to remain rather uniform across much of the area, and they'll be in the mid to upper 30's.
Now, what I am tracking is rather interesting. I've been watching it for the past day and it looks as though I'll be following it for the next couple days. What will happen is that a low pressure will come out of the Plains and slowly take its time when coming our way. It'll hang around the Plain's for about 18 hours, and then it'll will quickly head northeast towards the more northern part of our region.

(GFS model showing a rather slow moving low pressure in the Plains for the first 24 hours, and then it'll quickly pick up speed and head our way Sunday night).

In doing so, this low pressure system is going to pull up some much warmer air from the Gulf. It is a little too early to pinpoint an exact temperature on it, however things are looking as though they'll be in the low to mid 70's by the day on Sunday. Now will things get warmer? That is to be debated and I will have to look over that tomorrow morning when I do the general update.
So, for right now, until the morning, most of you are still going to see the chance of scattered precip in your forecasts for a good chunk of the region. I am working on narrowing those times down for you guys so I can create a more accurate forecast, but in general it is looking like Friday will be the rainy day with some lingering showers on Saturday morning and then a weaker system on the day Sunday and Monday.
Now, most of you who are checking this site right now wouldn't be checking it if it weren't for two rather important people. My two sisters (yes, sappy moment...aww) Melanie and Molly have taken the time to spread the word of this site and introduce it to the viewers who are viewing it now. So, with that being typed I just wanted to thank them for doing that and I hope that for those of you who check this site on a daily basis that you enjoy you it.
So, rainy day for Friday across a good chunk of the region, we could see some thunderstorms on that day as well. Could also see another chance for some thunderstorms in the southern part of the region as well on Sunday, but not before we see much warmer (above average) temperatures.
Coming up in the morning, I'll give you an in depth look of what I expect for these next couple systems that will make their way into our region. I'll type about the warmer temps, the possible storms and what to expect for the weekend as well as the beginning of next week. So keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always. Morning update coming up at 6:30 a.m. so do check back tomorrow morning for the latest information on what I expect. I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
