Today will be the day of waiting for those scattered rain showers to turn into steadier rain showers. For most of us, the day will begin as scattered rain showers, and then as the day goes on those showers will become more widely scattered (meaning there will be more of them in a bigger area). The rain showers will then begin to turn steady by the late afternoon and into the overnight hours across much of the southern and eastern part of the forecasting region.
We are seeing those scattered rain showers in the area right now, and they will continue to stick around.
The rain will last overnight and then go into the day Saturday, and a lot of us will see highs in the 40's, with Erie and Buffalo possibly getting to about 50° in the afternoon hours.
Saturday night and into Sunday those rain showers will begin to transition to some snow showers, but there wont be any accumulation I predict.
Again, overall I am expecting most places to get between 0.50 and an inch of rain fall. This could cause for some flooding seeing as how the ground is still wet in most places from the rain we had earlier in the week. However, the flooding wont be anything that we dont see every year. Typical field, stream and slight river flooding. So dont overly panic about this, it is typical this time of the year.
So not a whole lot to type about right now, yesterday I promised a 7:30 a.m. and that didn't happen, however today at 7:30 a.m. there will be an update post and I'll talk more about what we can expect and I'll get those extended forecasts updated for you all. So keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you throughout the day today, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
