A tricky forecast

A weak disturbance is going to pass way to the south of the area today, and that could pass a cloud or two to the places of Toledo and Fort Wayne later today, but it'll be mostly clear across the entire region as the high pressure controls our area.

Temps are going to be steady this afternoon, in the mid to upper 30's for most of us here in the region, (lower 30's for Green Bay), but those temps are going to slowly warm up as the week goes. I am guessing that by Friday we'll be right back to average temps, and maybe a degree or two above average, so that will be a relief for those of you who like the warmer weather.

There is going to be a low pressure system that will come up from the Plain's however, that low is looking like it is going to pass way to the south of the region. However, the biggest trick to this forecast comes on Wednesday afternoon. I shall explain:

(GFS model run from last night, shows possible weather for Wednesday morning).

(GFS model run from last night, shows possible weather for Wednesday night).

Recent models are showing a general west to east movement of this low pressure system, and that will keep the precip around the Columbus area (so out of our region during the day) however that afternoon it'll curve a little bit and send some of that precip heading northeast towards Erie and Buffalo. This will mean that Buffalo and Erie will be having an increased for precip in their forecasts today. But when it does this turn, the questions is: will it miss Toledo in the process? This low is then going to run along the East Coast in its own little world.

So for Wednesday evening, I am going to drop the precip chances for Toledo down to "Cloudy" for Toledo and Detroit, and then mostly cloudy for Fort Wayne. However, for the day Wednesday I am going to go out on a limb and call for scattered precip for the above mentioned.

This system will have the potential for some snow showers on the day Wednesday in the morning, however highs will be in the lower 40's from Fort Wayne to Erie, so that means that later in the morning, those snow showers will change to rain and we wont see any accumulation (so sorry snow lovers).

I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you as always.
