Well, 21 March is the offical first day of spring, however this week will feel like spring in a way. Actually, in the world of GLWX, we concider the first day of spring to be 15 March, so things are right on schedule climate wise. GLWX season times? Ah for the heck of it, I'll show you them:
21 Sept. offical first day of autumn, however for GLWX 1 Sept. is concidered the first day of autumn.
21 Dec. offical first day of winter, GLWX conciders 23 Nov. first day of winter.
21 Mar. offical first day of spring, GLWX conciders 15 Mar. first day of spring.
21 Jun. offical start to summer, GLWX conciders 1 Jun. first day of summer.
So, really for us, the season depends on the climate, not the sunrise/sunset. Now lets talk about some actual weather.
You've all been waiting patiently for it (I've been dreading it) but warmer weather has arrived and should be here this week. Cheer and applause. A weakish low pressure will cross through Ohio on Tuesday and Wednesday and this will give us some rain showers and warmer weather for those two days. In fact, most of us should see highs in the or near the 50's for Tuesday and Wednesday, but we could also see some scattered rain showers. Thursday, a high pressure will build in the south down near the Gulf so that will assist in pushing the jet stream up northward and allowing warmer air to come our way.
Thursday is when your relief comes. Whether it will be cloudy or sunny isn't important right now, but what is is the highs for that day. Toledo and Fort Wayne will be near 60°, and Green Bay near 55° and we'll keep Buffalo at near 55° for Thursday. We could still see some lingering rain showers in the eastern part of the region, and the northern part as well, but most of us should stay clear pending that warm air doesn't do much lift. I'll have to keep an eye on that for you all.
"Timmy, will it cool down at all?" you ask, and to be honest with you, March has already fooled us a few times so far, but for right now, I dont see anything too major air mass wise that will push us back down in temps. Of course, on Friday we could see highs back into the upper 40's for most of the region, but in general, things wont be going back to the 30's for a high for as far out as I can predict.
So some of us could see some rain showers on the day Thursday, so do check those extended forecasts to see whether or not you'll be seeing any. I'll have those updated again later this afternoon or evening depending on how long it takes for me to forecast it.
I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them for you.
This is awesome!!!!!
