The rain that will fall could produce some localized flooding along river and stream areas. So if you live right next to a river or stream, it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on the weather that will be occuring the next couple of days. It wont be record setting flooding, but it will be enough that some country roads could get flooded out along with areas near a river, ditch or stream.
Most of us are going to see increasing clouds throughout the day today, and those rain showers are going to move into the area later tonight. For now, I am expecting that they'll be off and on, however once we get into Friday night and Saturday across much of the forecast area (minus Green Bay) we could see periods of prolonged rain fall. Most areas are going to see about 0.50 to an inch of rain these next couple days, but do not be surprised if some places get those heavier rain bursts which will then up the rain fall totals.
This system wont be anything out of the norm, however it will be one to keep an eye on.
For places like Toledo, Fort Wayne and Detroit, the rain will begin later this evening. Buffalo and Erie will most likely start to see their rain after midnight. The rain will last through Saturday, and then Saturday night into Sunday those rain showers will mix with snow and then it will be over. I expect no snow accumulation.
So be sure to check your extended forecasts and those will become your biggest friends these next couple days.
The NWS is still keeping those flood warnings up for areas along rivers and such, and they will most likely keep them up for the next couple of days. This is March, stuff like this usually happens.
But it shouldn't be any record breakers by a long shot, but it will be enough that some streets, rivers and streams could really get overwhelmed by the rain.
I'll have another update coming up around 7:30 a.m. this morning, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them.
