Snowy weather

Well the snow is moving across the area right now, the winds are also increasing as well. The only places really being effected are the areas south of Detroit and around Fort Wayne and the snow will make its way to Erie and Buffalo throughout the day.

Total snow fall accumulations:
About 3-5 inches of snow for Toledo
About 2-4 inches for Fort Wayne
5-8 inches for both Erie and Buffalo
And 2-4 inches for Detroit.

So nothing that we can not handle.

The biggest problem will be the wind of course, and already that is blowing around 20 mph in places like Toledo and Fort Wayne. Temps aren't very low, only a little below 30° in a lot of locations, so the windchills aren't low.

The low pressure is at 995 mbs and located down around the Evansville area, so we are north of it across the region which is why we are getting just the snow. The snow that is effecting the region is very limited. Once you get north of Detroit there will be little snow.

Erie and Buffalo of course will see the best of the snow, with the help of some lake effect snow.

But for the most part, most people will see an end to the snow by the late afternoon.

Toledo and Fort Wayne will see the snow end by the mid afternoon. Erie and Buffalo by the early evening.

There will be a brief break across the region and then we'll see another chance for light snow tomorrow afternoon, but nothing accumulating over an inch.

But Monday will be the day to watch out for, not because of snow, but because of rain. Highs will be in the lower 50's in the southern part of the region which will cause that snow to melt, so some streams and rivers could see a little bulging.

I'll keep you updated throughout the day, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them.
