From snow to rain

Not a whole lot of snow fell as expected, most places saw the lower end of their forecasts. Here at the GLWX (located outside of Toledo) we got about 3.5 inches of snow, out of the 3-5 inches that were expected. Some places got a little more, but the biggest thing was the wind. Winds gusted around 40 mph for a good chunk of the morning, which really pushed that snow around. So, a good burst of snow for a large area of the region.

However, the snow across the region wont last long. We have another low pressure that will form out of the Plains, however unlike the last one, this will pass through the region which will give us warmer temps and rain starting Sunday night for most places.

The jet stream is running north of the region, and this will take the low through Michiogan, and because of this, we're getting the warmer edge of the pressure. Highs on Monday will be near 50° for just about everyone. With the snow that we had, this could mean melting for the rivers, and we could get a decent amount of rain as well. So if you live near a stream, just be watching it. It wont be the flooding of the decade, but it will be the typical winter thaw flooding.

Once the low passes, we'll go back to temps in the 30's and 40's across the area.

So, basically the forecast is going to be rather simple in all honesty: rain showers starting tomorrow evening, and they'll last through tomorrow afternoon for most of us across the region. Highs in the 50's on Monday. Behind the system, cooler temps but should be clear skies through Friday.

You can check forecast discussions at www.glwx.blogspot.com incase you want to know what we're following. I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them.
