Above average temps

Well, we have a warm front pushing through the region right now and that is what will be responsible for the warmer temps today throughout the region. A somewhat good-sized low pressure is over Canada and that low will move through the northern part of the region later tonight and tomorrow. For the people in the southern part of the region, we'll get nothing more than some gusty winds, warmer temps and maybe some scatterd rain/snow showers.

Then, once that front passes through tomorrow night, we'll see temps a little cooler with lows in the lower 20's from Fort Wayne to Erie. However, as a high pressure sets up to the west of us, it'll push that jet stream farther north which will allow for some warmer air to enter the region. Then we'll have a second high pressure off to the east which will assist in pushing that warmer air north.

If you're going to be in Toledo today, the average high for this day is 34° and today we'll see a high in the lower 40's, so obviously it'll be warmer than average.

Fort Wayne, you're average high for this day is only 35° and today you too will see highs in the lower 40's.

My guess is, as I was telling the people on email forecasts, that we shouldn't get use to this warm weather quite yet. I am thinking that before the season is out (we have until about mid-March) we'll see maybe one more shot at some cooler air or another couple inches of snow. I am not saying that we'll see another below 0 morning or snow storm, but we'll most likely see another shot at some winter like temps before the season is done, even if it only lasts for a day. Now when this will happen, I dont know quite yet, but my guess is that we'll get something before the season is out.

But for now, especially this week, I am calling for above average temps for basically everyone. Highs today across much of the region will be in the upper 30's/lower 40's and we could see some late night scattered rain/snow showers for places like Detroit, Fort Wayne and even Toledo and Erie.

Later this week, especially in the southern part of the region, I am expecting highs in the upper 40's for Wednesday and Thursday, however this could be coupled with rain and wind, so it wont be a nice sunny day that you all are hoping for. That will be something that I'll have to keep an eye on though.

So, above average temps for much of the week, and we'll see a chance for rain/snow shwoers in the region late tonight and tomorrow morning, and then we'll see a chance for a high in the upper 40's in the region on Wednesday and Thursday.

I'll keep you updated as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates because I'll have them.
