Textbook Alberta Clipper

Well tonight for much of the region we'll see mostly cloudy skies and temps only around 20° for most of us here. What we'll be seeing tonight in the world of weather will be our Gulf low really getting its act together and it'll start to move up northeast throughout the night.

It is going to cut close to Erie and Buffalo later tomorrow morning, but in all honesty I doubt you guys are going to get anything from this system directly. But, once that low passes up more northward, boom, lake effect snow will be likely again in your area for Wednesday night and into the weekend. Not a whole lot of accumulation from the lake effect, just about 2-4 inches of snow between Wednesday night and Sunday. Nothing you all cant handle, and of course I'll update you as this lake effect develops.

Moving on to more exciting stuff...CLOUDS! Yay! Well, for the most part tonight and tomorrow will be a quiet one across the rest of the region. Mostly it'll just be cloudy across the region with temps varying between mid 20's and lower 30's, depending on where you are and where you keep you thermometer. But, some interesting weather will be moving your way...

Friday, we're looking at a clipper system coming down from Alberta, and as always, these have the good potential to give us about 1-3 inches of snow fall, and then some cooler weather behind it. We're going to see this low pressure move into the region on by late Thursday night.

I think Green Bay will get it first, Green Bay will probably have their snow begin to arrive around the late evening on Thursday. The low will then slide down across the Great Lakes region (right now I have it passing central Indiana).

Around midnight we'll see the snow begin to fall in places like Fort Wayne and possibly Toledo, and by the Friday morning commute hours, Toledo, Fort Wayne, and possibly Detroit, will have their snow falling. However at this time I expect the snow to be over with in Green Bay. Green Bay, you could see about 1-2 inches of snow fall between Thursday night and Friday morning.

By Friday afternoon, Toledo and Fort Wayne will be done with the snow, and they'll probably see about 1-2 inches of snow fall. Erie, will begin to see the snow fall, but they might not get as much as the others will have, because the low will be way to your south.

So really, this clipper system will basically be textbook in the sense that it wont last long and it'll give us some light snow accumulations and it will be coming from Alberta. The only time we'll be effected by this system across the region will be from Thursday Night into Friday night, and in all honesty, most places shouldn't see their snow fall lasting more than...6 hours. It'll be light snow fall too, probably mixing in with some moderate bands here and there, but nothing major.

Behind this system however will be cooler weather and we'll type about that in the morning, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking back for updates.
