Well the system made its presence known across the region, and we're just starting to see some of those snow fall reports come in.
Places like Detroit, Fort Wayne and Toledo will see cloudy skies today with a high near 25. There could be some scattered snow showers throughout the day, but most of them will be in the morning hours. Other places like Erie and Buffalo will see snow showers throughout the day today, but otherwise it'll be a fairly calm day in the western and central Great Lakes region.
There are some winds behind this system however, winds gusting upwards to 20-30 mph throughout the day today in places like Toledo and Fort Wayne. This will make for some blowing snow, especially on those back country roads, so do take it easy if you're driving.
We are watching a clipper system that could move into the area over the weekend, but it wont be anything too major, just maybe an extra inch of snow in some places. We'll of course keep you updated on that, but I do not see this being anything too extreme.
Now lets take a look at those snow reports
DeKalb Co., IN: 4.0 inches.
Wood Co., OH: 4.5 inches, total snow depth 5 inches.
Elkhart Co., IN: 3.9 inches, total snow depth of 7.5 inches.
Hillsdale Co., MI: 4.0 inches, total snow depth of 9.0 inches.
Lake Co., OH: 5.0 inches, total snow depth of 10.3 inches.
I'll keep you updated as always on the snow and what could possibly impact us this weekend, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking for updates.
