High pressure

Well the high pressure is controlling the region right now, so that is why right now we are looking at temperatures of 1.7° here at GLWX. This high pressure will stay in the area for much of the day today, which is why we'll be seeing cool temps and clear skies. The only places that are seeing some snow right now is the lake areas of Erie and Buffalo, and that snow could last throughout the day today.

Tomorrow, I'll be watching another clipper system move through the area, and by tomorrow afternoon we'll see those snow showers moving into the regions of Fort Wayne and Toledo.

The cooler temps will stick around today as we will be seeing highs only in the teens across the whole region. These cool temps will last through tonight as we'll see single digit lows one more time here in the region. But then our temps across the region will rise, and on Tuesday places like Toledo and Fort Wayne could even see highs in the lower 30's.

Now, when will this cold weather return? Well, it is going to take a week, maybe even two, for the colder Canadian weather to regain itself and get ready to move back into the area. Remember how back in December, we had those couple days of single digits, and then it took a while for us to see them again? Well, that is what will be happening here in the region.

So, a mostly clear day today across the region (except snow in Erie and Buffalo) and cooler temps. Highs only in the teens for the whole area. Then tomorrow afternoon, our next clipper systems moves through, that'll occupy Monday and Tuesday with some snow showers. And then by the middle of the week, we'll see 20's for a high in most places and the teens for a low in most places.

I apologize for the vagueness of this mornings post. Again, there never seems to be enough time in the world, but that's life. I'll keep you updated as always, so keep checking back for updates, especially as we follow this next clipper system. But for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather! Keep checking for those updates.
