Well, this afternoon I had the pleasure of watching three named low pressure systems in the region. Olga, who was the quickest one of them all is still at 993 mbs however she is located in Appalachia region of Virginia, so we dont really care too much about her anymore. Next there is Natalya and Alexandria who are both slowly but surely weakening...both of them at 992 mbs as of the last update from the HPC.
Natalya is really the dominator of the regional weather right now, it is obvious that she is pulling the strings and Alexandria is just there because she felt like showing up. Now, both of them will slowly move through the region tonight and through tomorrow, and this will cause some snow showers for most places in the central and eastern places of the Great Lakes region. Lets look at a quick time line I have put together...
Tonight: Snow showers in the following cities possible...Detroit, Buffalo, Toledo, Fort Wayne and Erie.
Tomorrow: Snow showers likely in the following cities...Detroit, Buffalo, Toledo, Fort Wayne and Erie.
Tomorrow Night: Snow showers will be ending in the following cities...Detroit, Toledo and Fort Wayne. But some snow showers will still be possible in the cities of Erie and Buffalo.
Sunday: Clearing out for the most part for places like Toledo, Fort Wayne, Green Bay and Detroit, and we'll start to see a somewhat lessening of the snow showers in places like Erie and Buffalo...however you'll still be getting some snow showers...more than likely they will all be lake effect snow showers -- so you know what that means!
Monday: Looking at most places clearing out in terms of snow as Natalya and Alexandria move out of the region and go somewhere out of my forecasting realm.
So, a snowy weekend for places like Erie and Buffalo, otherwise the first part of the weekend looks to be snow filled, however on Sunday the central Great Lakes region will be clearing for some cooler temperatures.
I'll keep you up to date as always, but for now, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
