Cool night and future snow?

Well it'll be a chilly night across much of the Great Lakes region tonight, with places like Green Bay that'll see single digits, and even Toledo and Fort Wayne could get down to about 15° tonight. If you're over in Erie you could see another 4-6 inches of lake effect snow tonight with some places possibly getting another 7 inches of snow. It'll be interesting to see what the total snow depth is over in Erie County, PA when those reports come in tomorrow morning around 7 a.m.

Looking at the long term, well we could see two good chances for snow in the near future. The first chance of snow will be a clipper system that could give an inch or two of snow for places like Green Bay, Fort Wayne and Toledo over the weekend. That will probably be on Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Then, the second chance will be on Monday when we'll see the possibility of a fairly decent low pressure system make its way over to the Great Lakes region. Either way, most places this weekend will be seeing snow, how much is yet to determined.

The system that I am watching for Monday however seems to be the more favorable one for any sort of snow accumulation, however that is still about 5 days out so it'll be at least another 24 hours before I can make a solid prediction. This will not be a blizzard however, because it is still too early in the season for anyone to get that here in the Great Lakes, but it could give us a few inches of snow, so yes it does bare some watching.

Otherwise, not a bad looking forecast in sight, a little chilly here and there and filled with low temperatures.

So lets go over this again here: A clipper system will move through the Great Lakes region over the weekend, giving about an inch or two of snow for the western Great Lakes region. Then, on Monday we could see a low pressure form out of the plains and that could give us a good shot at some accumulating snow in places like Fort Wayne, Toledo, Detroit and Cleveland.

I'll be keeping you up to date as always on both these systems, and be sure to check back in the morning when Jacob and I have our updated forecasts. But for now, as I always, I am Timmy Albertson and that's the weather!
